The Production Process of TPU
TPU is the abbreviation of thermoplastic polyurethane, a kind of polymer material.TPU has excellent elasticity, toughness, oil resistance, abrasion resistance, water vapor permeability and antimicrobial properties. Its physical and mechanical properties are similar to those of rubber, and it also has the processing characteristics of thermoplastics, which can be processed into various shapes of products through injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, calendering, hot pressing and other methods.
The production process of TPU can be roughly divided into the following steps:
Step 1. raw material proportioning: according to the required product performance requirements, the polyether or polyester polyol, isocyanate, chain extender, crosslinking agent and other raw materials according to a certain proportion of proportion, and fully mixed under the appropriate conditions.
Step 2. Reaction Synthesis: The mixture of raw materials will be prepared into TPU particles by reaction synthesis method. During the reaction process, the temperature, time, ratio of reactants and other factors need to be strictly controlled to ensure the integrity of the reaction and the stability of the quality of TPU particles.
Step 3. Processing and molding: TPU particles are put into the injection molding machine, extruder and other equipment to be processed into a variety of shapes of products, such as shoe soles, water tubes, protective covers and so on. During the process, the processing temperature, processing pressure and other parameters need to be controlled to ensure the quality and stability of the products.
Step 4. Post-processing: According to different product requirements, cutting, cooling, drying, surface treatment and other post-processing links, in order to ultimately form a TPU products with integrity, stability and good performance.
The Difference of TPU Patches and PVC Patches
TPU patches and PVC patches as a kind of non-metallic badges, there are many common points, but they also exist in some aspects of some differences, the differences are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Material: TPU patches are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), while PVC patches are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
2. Softness: Since TPU material has good flexibility and elasticity, the softness of TPU patches is better than PVC patches, and the elasticity of TPU patches is better than that of PVC patches.
3. Temperature resistance: relatively speaking, the temperature resistance of TPU patches is higher than PVC patches, can withstand higher temperatures, not easy to deformation.
4. environmental protection: both are environmentally friendly badge material, but TPU patches are more biodegradable, while PVC patches have some harm to the environment.
5. Color: Because TPU patches use flexible, transparent or translucent materials, can be presented through the lower layer of the pattern to present a variety of color effects, which presents a more realistic color effect, while the PVC badge color is more single.
In summary, TPU patches and PVC patches have their own advantages and disadvantages, the specific application needs to be selected according to the need, but in general, TPU patches relative to PVC patches in terms of softness, temperature resistance and biodegradability have a better performance, while PVC patches relative to the lower cost of TPU patches, the color is relatively single. For different applications and needs, you can choose different badge materials according to different material characteristics.
